Donald or Tripp, as his friends know him joined Cogan & Power in the Summer of 2024 as a law clerk. He worked on FELA cases as well as medical malpractice, motor vehicle accidents, and other personal injury matters throughout his time as a clerk with Cogan & Power. In November of 2025, Tripp was sworn in as an attorney of the Illinois Bar and officially joined the office as an Associate.
Tripp was born in Chicago, Illinois. He attended college at American University in Washington, D.C. where he studied political science and served on the Mock Trial Team. Tripp graduated with a degree in Political Science and a Certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies in May 2015.
He attended law school at Loyola Chicago University. He served on the 7th Circuit Anderson Moot Court Team, where his team won an award at competition for the quality of their brief. He served as President of the Law School Democrats and before joining Cogan & Power, he clerked at the Cook County Public Defenders Office.
He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association. When he does have free time Tripp can usually be found exploring new restaurants in Chicago or catching a ball game from the bleachers.
